Welcome West High Class of 1977! This is a simple website put up to give West High classmates opportunity to provide their contact information and be able to reach other WHS '77 students. You can do this by simply sending me (Jon Mutchler) an email.

 

Please note that this is a public web site for anyone to see. I strongly suggest that you use an "alternate" email. One that you might use or create for online purchases or sites like this. When you publish addresses on sites like this you might get put on an unfriendly "SPAM" list. Therefore, use an email that is set aside for usage like that. Like a hotmail or yahoo account. The email I have put on here for me (an AOL account) is one I check regularly, but it is not my primary "spam-free" account.

 

You can send to me any or all of this information in an email and I will put it up. (If you write it out neatly, I can just paste it in and save time, thanks!). If your listing is not posted within a week of sending it to me, please send it again and make sure I confirm that I received it. If not, use the email address that is at my personal home page. Also, if you email me a small recent digital pict of you or of you and family, I may upload those some day. I will file them away in the mean time.

Only a few rules: Feel free to contact classmates, but it would be out of place to use this site to build your spam/mass email list. Nobody really wants your latest stock, health, or celebrity tip. Also, this will be a "clean" web site, so our kids can read it!

That's enough for me right now! Maybe we can add more later. We will certainly post class reunion information.

If you know of any West High '77 people, please direct them to this site! And, if anyone has a picture of the school building, around 1977, I would like to include it on this page. I looked through 4 West High year books ("Catlogs") and there wasn't a decent one there.

I was accepted into graduate school at the UW, but that was a time of big state budget cuts and my department was eliminated so I attended only one quarter. After that I worked as a technical writer and editor for 14 years for various companies. Then I ran a non-profit farmland conservation and sustainable agriculture organization for 6 years. In 2004 my partner and I opened The Scooter Gallery in Seattle's University District. So if you're in the market for a scooter or riding apparel or accessories, please check us out. If you mention West High Class of '77, we'll give you our 10% family and friends discount on merchandise (excluding vehicles or trailers, sorry). My partner Alex and I have been together since 1978 when we met in the UW honors student lounge. We have no kids, but many nieces and nephews whom we love. My parents passed along the family Hallmark business in Bremerton to my younger brother Scott (class of '79) who married Stacy Ryan, Robin's younger sister.  At West I was a member of the Science and Drama Clubs and worked on the school paper. In addition to the above, I have a secret life that you'll have to ask me about in person.
